Our Story

Serving Saugerties since 2008.

Main Street Restaurant began with a dream.

After nine years working just a few doors down at Village Pizza, Rhianna Rodriguez knew she wanted a place of her own. When a small Main Street space became available in 2008, she took the leap.

Instead of another pizzeria, she chose something different — the bold, vibrant flavors of Mexican and Southwestern cuisine.

What she built wasn’t just a restaurant.

It was a home.

Working alongside her husband Jorge, whose roots in El Salvador inspire many of the kitchen’s most-loved dishes, Main Street quickly became a gathering place for locals, families, and visitors passing through town.

The story of how it all began is painted right inside the restaurant — two art pieces that tell it simply:

“All because two people fell in love.”

Rooted in the Village

Located in the heart of Main Street, the restaurant has watched Saugerties grow and change over the years.

From ski season crowds in the winter to busy summer sidewalks filled with visitors, Main Street Restaurant has remained a constant — welcoming regulars who come twice a week and new faces discovering their favorite margarita for the first time.

The long bar still hints at the building’s diner days. The old wooden phone booth tucked near the wall still sparks smiles from kids who wonder if Superman might step out.

It’s history. It’s character. It’s community.

MORE THAN A MEAL

People come for the Baja Fish Tacos, the fajitas, the burgers, and the tres leches cake.

They stay for the atmosphere.

Live music fills the nook on select evenings. Friends gather at the bar. Families relax at tables where kids color and laugh.

It’s lively without being loud. Cozy without feeling crowded.

Main Street isn’t just a place to eat.

It’s a place to feel at home.
